The ICD-10
courses cover all official coding guidelines beginning with coding basics, then walking in depth through each chapter for both ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS. This process will guide you through the transition by helping you develop the coding skills you need to succeed in your career. Off to the left side of this web page you will find ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding resources that you may download for your personal use and for the course. Hard copy books can be purchased but are not necessary. Many students still find it easier to learn with a hard copy CM/PCS book, while the electronic files seem to be just as user friendly as the hard copy. Electronic or hard copy version of the materials is a personal choice, the basic content is the same.
It is recommended that you are familiar with Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology, if you need training in this please submit a request.
STUDENT CONVENIENCE
This is a fast paced course. You will be guided and instructed on what training to complete. Although there is homework you are not required to complete all of the listed items within. If you like you may pick and choose which chapters you are interested in doing. The test results will be emailed to you for your reference.
The training provides a thorough discussion of the coding concepts that are unique to ICD-10-CM and PCS as well as a review of the definitions, conventions and guidelines that you will find throughout the material.
Note: To benefit from each detail of the training be sure to advance each slide by clicking directly on the slides and not the play button.
ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS
To access the materials: simply click on the topic of choice to the left, then click on a Chapter Title to access the flash player presentations. Please note that not all Modules will have audio, that option is there if there is an audio file embedded into the lesson you may adjust the volume. After you complete the presentation click on the Quiz and upon completing the quiz take the test.
